Post A Club Newsletter

To post your club newsletter, follow the procedures below (you might want to print this page out if you've never posted to this wiki):

  1. Click on the "edit this page" link in the right-side navigation of the Benefits page (while it might be tempting, do not use the "create a new page" link in the right-side navigation to add your club newsletter).
  2. (Option 1) If you wish to simply link to a page on your club's website, type in your club name followed by the word "Newsletter" (e.g. My Club Name Newsletter) on the Newsletter page in alphabetical order by club name. Please use the full name of the club in the link as many clubs have the same acronyms.
  3. If someone has already created a page with the same name as your club, you will need to adjust your club's name to make it unique (you can adjust the name by adding the city or state of the club to the link title).
  4. Use the cursor to highlight the club name, then select the "insert/edit link" icon from the tool bar (looks like a chain). Type or paste the URL for the link you want to create in the top field, then in Target, select "Open in new window", then click the insert button.
  5. Click "Save & Close" to save the link you just created.
  6. (Option 2) If you want to use and exiting newsletter document, such as a PDF of your club newsletter,  type in your club name followed by the word "Newsletter" (e.g. My Club Name Newsletter) on the Newsletter page in alphabetical order by club name. Please use the full name of the club in the link as many clubs have the same acronyms.
  7. If someone has already created a page with the same name as your club, you will need to adjust your club's name to make it unique (you can adjust the name by adding the city or state of the club to the link title).
  8. Click on the "Attachments" tab at the top of the editor page, above the title field. Use the browse and upload buttons to upload your document, then click on the "Content" tab to return to the editor.
  9. Use the cursor to highlight the club name you typed in earlier, then select the "insert/edit link" icon from the tool bar (looks like a chain). Select the document you just uploaded from the "Link List", then in Target, select "Open in new window", then click the insert botton.
  10. (Option 3) Alternatively, if you wish to add a new page in the wiki for your club newsletter, create a link to a new page by typing in your club name followed by the word "Newsletter" surrounded by double brackets (e.g. [My Club Newsletter]) on the Benefits page in alphabetical order by club name. Please use the full name of the club in the link as many clubs have the same acronyms. The title within the brackets cannot contain any spaces or symbols other than letters. The wiki software will automatically insert spaces in the text before capitalized letters. You can edit how the title appears once you have created your benefits page.
  11. If someone has already created a page with the same name as your club, you will need to adjust your club's name to make it unique (you can adjust the name by adding the city or state of the club to the link title).
  12. Click the "Save & Close" button at the bottom of the editor page.
  13. Click on the link you just created on the Benefits page.
  14. In the page that opens, click "Create Page".
  15. In the Create Page form that opens, the name you entered in the link will appear as the Page Name, for Template, select "default", click Rich Text Format, then hit the submit button.
  16. Use the tool bar to copy and paste your newsletter from another document.
  17. To add images/photos, go to the "Attachments" tab at the top of the edit page above the title bar. Use the form to find and upload your photos.
  18. Once your images are uploaded, go back to the "Content" tab. You can then insert your images using the "insert/edit image" tool in the tool bar (see the icon that looks like a tree in the tool bar next to the anchor).
  19. When you are finished inserting your images, hit the "Save & Close" button.
  20. Your club newsletter will then be posted for others to see.
  21. Come back to update your newsletter regularly.
