Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Sometimes I see a link that's contained within square brackets, like [link]. What does that mean?
A. It means that a link for a new page has been created, but the page itself has not yet been created. To create the page, click on the link in square backets. You'll then see a message that says "Page Not Found". Just click on the "Create Page" link and add your content.
Q. I attempted to add a link for a new Club Profile/Benefits, but the link does not appear as I typed it after I saved it.
A. If the title of your link included any spaces or symbols it will not appear correctly after you save it. Edit the page where you added the link and remove any spaces or symbols.
Q: What do you have to do if there is a special symbol in the name of the page? One of mine has an ampersand "&" in it, and the wiki doesn't recognize the page name as a link with that in it.
A: The title within the brackets cannot contain any spaces or symbols other than letters. The wiki software will automatically insert spaces in the text before capitalized letters when you save the page. You can edit how the title appears once you have created your new page. The same is true when you create a new page. The title you give a page in the initial form after clicking the "create a new page" link cannot include any spaces or symbols, but the title can be edited on the next page in the title field.
Q: I created a new page and now I can't find it, where did it go?
A: When you create a new page using the "create a new page" link, you will indeed create a new page, but in order for anyone to view that page, you need to add a link to an existing page. To add a link, click on "edit this page" in the page where you want to add your link. Type the link in the appropriate place on the page, for example if the page you created was titled "New Page", type in [[NewPage]]. If you do not recall the name of the page you created, you can search for it in the Index (click on Index at the bottom of any page) or by using the search field in the upper right corner of every page.
Q: Why does the content of my page look wrong after I copied and pasted content from another document into the editor?
A: When copying and pasting from another document, use the copy and paste functions in the tool bar to avoid formatting errors.
